About Rosaria valenti

Her paintings are driven by emotion, movement and colour. Working mainly with 
acrylic, oil sticks and mixed media, Rosaria paints intuitively, allowing each work to
develop through layers, marks, texture and contrast.

Born in the UK to a family with Sicilian roots,
Rosaria grew up surrounded by creativity in her
family’s tailoring  shop. From an early age, she
was drawn to colour, materials and the process
of making things by hand. This early connection
with craftsmanship continues to influence the
way she approaches her art today.
 
Rosaria does not begin every painting with a fixed
outcome. Instead, she responds to the canvas as the work
develops . Layers are added, changed  and sometimes removed, creating 
paintings that are energetic, expressive and personal.
Her work often reflects feelings that are difficult to put
into words - moments of tension,freedom, vulnerability, strength and change.
 

Based in Somerset , Rosaria continues to develop her practice through painting, mixed media and sculpture, exhibiting her work in galleries, exhibitions and independent spaces across the UK.

Each painting is an original piece, created  by hand in her Somerset studio.
